How To Care For Your Windows
Windows provide your home with natural light and can help protect and
insulate your home from weather. With regular maintenance and care
you can help improve the durability of your windows making them last.
Look at your windows and monitor them for any signs of rot, decay or
wear and tear. You should also check to make sure that they are well
sealed; that the glass is in good condition; and ensure that the caulking
hasn’t worn out. If you do notice any decay, it could mean that
moisture is now getting into the window somehow. When moisture is
present, it usually means that there is damage to the seal, and may
reduce the insulation of your windows. Preventative maintenance will
help extend the life of your windows.
Clean your windows on a regular basis with a mild gentle soap diluted in
water. Grime and filth buildup on the frame wears away protective
paint and sealant. Never power wash your windows as the pressure
from a power washer will damage the seal and void the warranty.
